Legal Question in Family Law in California

Parental rights re minor's contact with adults

I have forbidden my 16-year-old son to date a 21-year-old woman, but I suspect she will continue to contact my son in spite of my objections. Do I have the legal right to determine with whom my son associates? If so, what means are available to enforce my rights? The woman has not threatened him in any way, I just don't want him dating such an older woman. Thanks.

Re: Parental rights re minor's contact with adults

You have the right to object to an adult dating your son. If they have sex, she will be guilty of commiting a felony. Report her conduct to the police. They may discuss her conduct with her and discourage her from further contact. You could also get a restraining order keeping her away from him.
