getting all parental rights taken away
my son has physical and legal custody of my grandchild. the court orders were for the mother to enter a drug program for one year and to have two one hour supervised visits through a parenting program. now over three years later mother has not had one visit or entered any such program. mother has several arrest records since and has been without a job not paid a dime of support has been sent to mental facilities and has made repeated threats of kidnap and burning down my house all left on my voice messages on my cell phone and they have been reported to the local authorities in which I have recorded them on a tape recorder in case the threats are carried out. my son has worked at the same mployer has not been in any trouble and has been a wonderful father. the mother has also been labeled mentally ill, what are his chances of him getting her parental rights taken awy all together for the protection of my grandchild and everyone else involved. from california

I would not ask to have her parental rights be terminated. Keep in mind that this is still your granddaughter's mother. You will have to answer to your granddaughter some day about why you kept her mother away from her, even if it's in her best interests.
If she absolutely is a threat to the rest of you, ask the court for a restraining order as to you. If she's not taking advantage of visitation, let a sleeping dog lie. It's best if she's in your granddaughter's life. Maybe eventually she'll turn herself around and get some help.
