parenting plans for school aged children

I am looking for samples of parenting plans my brothers case was heard in family law court of stanislaus county he and his ex have joint custody and our exchangeing child every 2 to 3 days this will not work when school starts as the mother lives 2hrs away. she would like the parenting plan to stay intact and have the child attend two schools i have talked to the schools in our area and they will not thankfully allow this. i need an alterniteve plan i would like to have some examles on case laws that i can show her.and an opinion on what should be done.

This is not an opinion, and it is unlikely that you will get an opinion without hiring an attorney to prepare it.

Stanislaus county should have a counselor working for the family court. That person could provide inofrmation as to the local philosphy regarding visitation and custody.

As a general rule, most professionals in this area prefer that the child have a primary residence, with either father or mother. That the child visit the other parent from that primary residence. I have never heard of a case where the parents had approximatly 50/50 visitation when they did not live close enough to each other to allow the child to attend the same school regardless of which parent the child was with.

Generally the non-custodial parent has visitation on alternate weekends, with several weeks in the summer and the school holidays being divided between the parents.
