Legal Question in Family Law in California
Parents using child's social security number to get cable
The mother of my god-daughter (who is 3 years old) opened a cable account in my god-daughter's name. The account is now almost a year overdue. The child's father is just now finding out about it. Would this be grounds for him to gain fulltime custody of both my god-daughter and her brother (age 6)? The parents haven't been together in over a year. Would this be a case for Child Protective Services, as well as a criminal case, since this is a crime against a child? What legal rights does the father have?

Re: Parents using child's social security number to get cable
You should file for a motion to modify child custody and the case will go to mediation where you can argue for full custody of your children. A family law facilitator in your local court house can help you with the paperwork.
Good luck, as always please contact a lawyer in your area before taking legal action.
