Legal Question in Family Law in California

Parents financial obligations/responsibility for 21 yr. old son

Please direct me to where in the Family Law or Child Support Laws where it specifies the limits and/or the extent of financial/legal responsibility/obligation of the parents of a 21 year old adult. And the financial responsibility and legal obligations of a 21 year old adult who is not dependent physically or mentally upon the parent and is fully capable of self-support. Can the parents be held responsible for any debts incurred by the 21 year old or can they be sued for any of his acts of willful misconduct or negligence? Thank you ahead of time for you assistance.
