Legal Question in Family Law in California

My parents wrote my name wrong on my birth certificate. They placed my mothers maiden name as my middle name. I want to remove it. What do I need to do?

It depends on whether you are a minor or not. If you are an adult, you can file a petition for name change on your own, and use the court order to change any legal documents. If you are a minor, who is not emancipated, then your parents would have to file.
