Legal Question in Family Law in California

As part of the divorce settlement, besides the spousal support, I am to received a percentage of any bonuses from his job. We have been splitting any extra curriculum activities for the child, but now that he is sending me the portion of the bonus, he claims that he does not have to continue splitting the cost of any extra curriculum activities: example: Track and field expenses, dancing expenses, etc. Please advice.

The costs of the extra currriculars would be decided by the courts in the original court order. You should consult the order for child support to see how the costs of the extra curricular activities are split. If they are not split 50/50 then what is the apportionmate of the costs? The bonus' are typically for child support and the cost of the adds on is at a different rate of allocation.

For self represented individuals you can consult with the family law facilitator self help center at your local court house.

As always please consult a local attorney prior to taking legal action. Good luck. Also please check out my Santa Clara County Family Lawyer blog.
