Legal Question in Family Law in California
Ex parte Support
I can not currently afford my child support requirements. My payments were based on my income from last year which is not the same anymore. I have a hearing set for NOv. Can I go into court ex parte to ask for a change? If so, what is the procedure?

You may be able to ask the court for an order shortening time to set a quicker hearing. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
Re: Ex parte Support
ex parte hearings are strictly for emergency purposes to prevent irreversible hardships on one party or the other, more or less. If your current situation falls into this category, there is a good chance you could have emergency orders granted here. Re: Ex parte Support
Is the hearing in November regarding support? You certainly are entitled to a support order based upon your current income, and may well be able to get a hearing date before Nov., but not on an ex parte basis (no court I've ever practiced in would consider this an emergency).
