How to get partial custody of daughter
My wife is planning to divorce me and she wants to have our beautiful 2 year old daughter stay with her. We both earn about the same salary, and both are active in raising our daughter. If would not want to miss out on raising my daughter, and want to have her with me 50% of the time. What do I need to do to ensure that I can have my daughter 50% of the time? I am very concerned about this because it seems the women are nearly always the ones who get the children, and this would be a terrible loss for me since I love my daughter so much.

It's not too hard to get 50% custody, we do it all the time.

Be very involved in all aspects of your daughter's life. Be sure you know the daycare provider, pediatrician, etc. Get a good attorney. Avoid getting entrapped by your wife in a manufactured "domestic violence" situation. Hang tough. Budget for your legal fees. Custody fights get expensive. Of course, if you can get your wife to realize that your active involvement in co-parenting post-separation is in your daughter's best interest, perhaps you will be able to resolve the issue promptly and amicably.

There is no preference for mother over father in awarding custody. There is a preference
in favor of the parent who has traditionally been the active parent to the child. So get yourself
in that situation, and don't agree to anything less.
