Legal Question in Family Law in California
My partner and I want to get married. We have lived together many years. We live in a community property state and I own a home. My partner is self employed but cannot afford liability insurance. Is there any way to protect my home if someone sues him after we are married.

There are a lot of options. I strongly suggest you meet with a local family law attorney and discuss pre-nuptual financial planning. That doesn't have to include a "pre-nup." Often just some simple planning and records preservation is sufficient.

I know there are reasonably prices umbrella liability policies to consider. I think Arco Insurance has one. Timothy is correct concerning the overall financial planning.
