Legal Question in Family Law in California

Passport for minor Child

I want to get a passport for my daughter who is almost two. Her father has chosen not to be part of her life, or given me child support. I have no custody order. We have had hardly any contact since I became pregnant. When I recently did call him to ask him to sign for her passport so I can move with my husband, who is in the military, to Guam he laughed in my face and declared ''try and make me do anything for you!'' Is there anything that I can do?

Re: Passport for minor Child

You need to go to court and get your current situation legalized. It will not be difficult. Don't ask for child support at the same time that you ask for custody. Once you have custody, then file a request for child support, if you want.
