Legal Question in Family Law in California

Paternal Grandparents Rights

What are my chances of getting the courts to grant visitation rights for my grandson if the custodial parent wont allow it. The parents are young and irresponsible. I fear for my Grandson's care. His mother has custody & the father will not stand up against her. I have waited for 10 mo. of court dates without the Mother being served, due to not knowing her location. She tried to talk my Son into giving him up for adoption when he was 13mo. old again! and my Son refused to the proceeding. I am worried he is not loved or wanted by these 2 immature parents. She will not communicate w/me because Child Protective Services were sent out to check on the Baby after He was released from the hospital with a stomach infec.

Re: Paternal Grandparents Rights

Grandparents have very limited rights. It is very difficult for grandparents to get visitation unless one of the parents wants the visitation, or the parent has a very close relationship with the grandchild. An attorney after reviewing the facts maybe able to provide some help to you.
