Legal Question in Family Law in California

Paternity - DNA Testing

I would like to have paternity (DNA) tests done because I question my paternity of two children that I have to pay child support for. How can I get the Los Angeles Court to order the mother to have the children DNA tested? She will not submit to a test just because I want it done.

Will I still have to pay child support if it shows I am not the father? The first child was born a couple of months before the mother and I got married and the second child was born during our marriage. The mother and I have been divorced since 2001.

How can I have a paternity test ordered by the Court?

Re: Paternity - DNA Testing

The younges child was born during the marriage and you can cannot get a paternity test for that child, by law. As for the older child you took her into your home and treated her as your child for a substantial period of time. You will receive a very cool reception in court in regard to this matter. You will be considered to be a very cold hearted individual for placing your financial gain ahear of the welfare of the children. These children have considered you to be their father during their entire lifetime. To be rejected by you will be a tremendous emotional blow to them.
