Legal Question in Family Law in California

Paternity and DNA tests

I have a problem. My boyfriend was with this girl about 3 years ago and about 2-3 months after they called it quits she became pregnant by her new man. She told everyone including Welfare he was the father. About 6 months into the pregnancy he to left her. The Day she gave birth she decided is was my boyfriends. He has recently taken a genetic test which did not exclude him as the father and never even considered the others even with proof that their were others. Is there anything we can do? Is there a good DNA clinic we can go pay for a real DNA test. There is much more to ask but I am out of space

Re: Paternity and DNA tests

You don't have a problem, your boyfriend does.

The tests include a probability index and other factors. You did not indicate what those results were.

You might consider the possibility that your boyfriend got the woman pregnant while they were together or, even if she became pregnant 3 months after they broke up, they might have still had another fling.

You can ask for a second test but you most likely will have to pay for it. Genetic Design, local hospitals, many companies are reputable. Don't know where you live.
