Legal Question in Family Law in California

paternity establishment before I see mediator?judge?

A 3 year restraining order was filed to prevent any contact between my 6yr old son and is mom. I brought grocerys to there grandmas and called the house. It was a major problem so I called the police to make them aware of my sons moms behavior. Anyway, now the D.A. is getting the case. I never established paternity and feel helpless. I'm a great dad,but realized I have no rights and now the restraining order is being shoved in my face. Should I establish paternity before any hearings or court dates over the order. I just want to see my son, he's 8 yrs old.Can she actually keep him from me for 3 yrs if she wants. I pay $600 a month for child support for at least 6yrs so do I still establish paternity?

Are you paying the child support pursuant to a court order? If the answer is yes then there should be a court order that you are the father. If there is not a court order that you are the father then file a paternity petition and request a temporary order giving you visitation.
