Legal Question in Family Law in California

paternity test

a woman I had sex with and became pregnant but went back to south africa because her visa expired and had the baby there. She has no intentions of coming back out to the United States. I am not 100% sure that is my child and would like a paternity test.

any idea how I would go about doing that?

Re: paternity test

You'll need to find a lawyer in South Africa. If she were in CA, outside of court you could simply do DNA testing. Very simple very accurate, take a swab from the inside of the baby's cheek, harmless. If mom won't cooperate, file a court action and you can easily get an order for DNA testing.

I think you should inform yourself on what the law is in South Africa. You don't want 20 years from now to be a bill for $200,000 for your unpaid child support.
