Legal Question in Family Law in California

Paternity testing

My child is 13 years old. I was never married to the father and now he wants to have--name removed--paternity test completed. Can I legally request that when he is confirmed as the father that he has no contact with my child until after the 18th birthday?

Re: Paternity testing

If he is confirmed to be the father of the child, he has the right to custody and visitation. You can request that he not have any contact with the child, but the court will not have to order no contact. It is probable that he will get some visitation if he requests it. You should retain an attorney to help you with this matter.
