Legal Question in Family Law in California

Pay for braces

Do I have to pay for my daughters braces ? my x has full custody. In the decree it says ''Each shall cooperate in the presentation of claims and the reimbursment to the paying party of chareges or co-payments advanced by that party that are later reimbursed ''

So if I have to pay .. Do I pay half of what is not covered by the dental insurance ???

Re: Pay for braces

That sounds like an incomplete order with respect to reimbursements. Reimbursements are covered under Family Code Section 4063. With rare exception the judges order the payment of uninsured medical and dental expense split evenly between the parties. If you order doesn't contain that provision it could certainly be added. It would be easiest to just pay the one half. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
