Do I have to pay my children's counselor to appear in court if he has been subpoenaed

You have to pay witness and mileage fees to the witnesses you subpoena. If the person is testifying as an expert witness, they can also charge you expert witness fees, which you will have to pay unless the court orders the other parent to pay.
