Legal Question in Family Law in California

percentage of visitation to affect child support

How is visitation determined as a percentage on a monthly basis? My situation is that I have visitation of my 3 children every other weekend, from Friday night at 6 p.m. and return them to school Monday morning at 8 a.m., I have been asked to determine the percentage of visitation. How do I calculate this factor? How do I calculate my percentage of time. Is the factor based on a 30 day month and a 24 hour day or what?

Re: percentage of visitation to affect child support

There isn't universal agreement on this issue. It is agrueable. Who gets credit for the time the child is in school and not in the custody of either parent? One way is to count nights, one way is to count meals, one way is to count hours, etc.. Try doing it different ways and see if it makes a difference.
