Permission required for out of country vacation

I have 100% custody both physical and legal for my child - I am planning a week vacation trip this summer out of the country - Will I need permission from my ex to take my 4yr old out of the country - he is allowed visititaion supervised every other weekend

Please advise

It depends on your child custody agreement or parenting plan. Since you have both physical and legal custody, the answer should be no. However, be informed that many airlines, customs and countries require permission from the other parent for taking a child out of the USA. This is for child abduction purposes... check with the embassy and airline to see if they have these rules for where you are vacationing.

As a courtesy, I would inform your ex so he knows of your whereabouts during that time. Whether you need his permission or not, it depends.
