Personal Adoption

After the baby is born how does the hospital know to give the baby to the new adoptive parents. Our California Lawyer said nothing needs to be done until after the baby is born.

Can you provide the hospital with a copy of the adoption papers ahead of time? Otherwise they won't release the baby to anyone except the woman giving birth.

Seriously, you need to wrap this up affirmatively and without guessing.

Call the hospital, find out what their policies are. Get your attorney to nail this down in writing and make sure that you get the child you're planning on having.
