Legal Question in Family Law in California

Once Petitoner Files Response

My friend's wife filed for divorce a little over a year ago. He never heard anything once he was served. He called the courts after months past and they told him he needed to respond. He filed his response Oct of 98. Until now no word. He called and found out that the Response was filed in Oct of 98 but he has not received final papers. What is he suppose to do next if anything? Or should his ex-wife do anything more?

Re: Once Petitoner Files Response

If there is noting in dispute both sides can file for judgment. if something is in dispute then either side can file a request for trial. If neither side does anything nothing will happen.
