Legal Question in Family Law in California

Ex wants physical custody

I have physical custody of my young daughter for over 3 years after a lengthy court battle with her mom. My ex has weekend and holiday visits. My ex is now seeking to regain physical custody of our daughter purely out of selfish reasons. My question is how likely is she able to get physical custody if our daughter is safe and happy in her current environment? I don't want my daughter to change schools because she is really thriving here. She has expressed that she would like to continue living with me. Please help. Thanks.

Re: Ex wants physical custody

The Court does not like to upset status quo unless it can be shown that it is in the child's best interest. Status quo is the present custody arrangement. You will certainly want to retain a lawyer to help you in this battle. If you are in Southern California, you may call me at my office tomorrow for a free consultation.
