Legal Question in Family Law in California

Placing child to foster care

My husband has a 13 y/o son from a prior marriage who is violent and we cannot let him live with us. The kid's mother doesn't want him at her house either. How can we place his son into foster care? Do we have to pay child support for placing him in foster care? If so, will the support amount be divided between us and the ex? How is it calculated?

Re: Placing child to foster care

You should consult with a doctor or the police about placing him is a group home. You will have to pay support for the child. Contact his school and ask about an IEP, individual education plan. This plan could involve placing him is a group home for individuals with special problems. The School district will help pay for the cost of this program.
