Legal Question in Family Law in California

I am planning on getting married soon, but just received a packet of papers from Child Support Services. I want to know if I get married, will my future wife be responsible for future child support? She is the main bread-winner.

No. Only biological or adoptive parents' income is counted for child support. You will, however, have to give her income information because it impacts the taxation on your income. So her income does to into the calculation, just not as income available for support. The only risk to her income or assets is if you default on your payments. At that point any community property, and any money in joint accounts can be reached to pay the debt, even if it's her income. So if you find yourself unable to make your payments and foolishly don't request a modification, she would want to put all her income in a separate account in her name only. But really, you don't want to do that anyway.
