So her income does to into the calculation, just not as income available for support. The only risk to her income or assets is if you default on your payments. At that point any community property, and any money in joint accounts can be reached to pay the debt, even if it's her income. So if you find yourself unable to make your payments and foolishly don't request a modification, she would want to put all her income in a separate account in her name only. But really, you don't want to do that anyway.
