Legal Question in Family Law in California
I am planning to moving to another state with my child. the father of my child and I have no court order of any kind. I am looking to move since I have a great job opportunity out there, and I can finally afford my own place. I am a full time mother and I just really want a better living for my son. , we were never married, he has a family and more children. My sons father does not help me financially he hasn't helped me since 2008 he, makes a lot more money than I do. I just want to know, if I leave the state can I get in to trouble?

You can't get into trouble, since you would not be violating any existing orders, but he can create problems if you leave and he doesn't like it. California will continue to have jurisdiction over the child for six months after you move. If he files anything here in that time, the child can be ordered returned to CA pending a hearing and ruling on custody and your move away. So it would be WAY better to make sure he knows you're moving and doesn't have a problem with it, or if he does, try to work out his concerns, before making the move.
The safest solution in just about any situation would be to get court orders to permit the children to relocate to the new state.
