Legal Question in Family Law in California

post nuptial agreement

I'm not getting a divorce, but my wife is nervous about my new venture into realestate. I'm buying and renting foreclosures with a partner and might own multiple homes. She doesn't want to be part of it. I was told if I do a post nuptial agreement she would be ok and not liable. Is this true?

Re: post nuptial agreement

I have some doubts about the financial protection that your wife would receive from a post nuptial. In my experience, the best protection is to form a coppration. If this is properly done there should be little or no tax consequences. It also allows you and your wife to protect assets from liability for the investment venture debts.
