Legal Question in Family Law in California

Please Help....

I posted a question on here about 2 or 3

months ago. I am going to try again.

I have a brother that was going with a girl.

They were together for a few months( in the

state of Washington), talked about getting

married and everything. Well she got pregnant

and they were really happy. They were together

for a few more months . time. Well the parents talked her into going home to California. Well one day my brother (michael) telling him that she

was puting this baby up for adoption. (I am

not sure what the law is in california but

they never got his consent to any of

this). Her parents told him that they had all

the money in the world to fight this. Well he

doesn't have alot of money to begin with, but

he is still fighting them. All they want is

this mistake to go away. They don't want this

baby to even exist. My question is:

What rights does he have to this baby?? He has a stable job and can afford to have the baby but not the attorney fees. Is there anyone he can contact who would help him?? And what if his family members

stepped in to adopt this baby.. Would they

have a chance???

Please HELP!!!

Re: Please Help....

The baby cannot be adopted without the consent of the father. He should file for custody. He may be able to get help from the local county adoption agency or local legal aid office. He has to decide if this child is a priority or not. If it is, then he should hire an attorney even if he must borrow to do it.
