Legal Question in Family Law in California
Potential Harassment Case
My grandmother used to babysit children of close family friends about 8 years ago. However, there was one family who was referred to her so she babysat their 2 daughters for a brief time (a 2 year old and a 4 year old) as a favor. The other children that my grandmother used to babysit would give my grandfather a hug whenever he would leave for work. So, when the 4 year old child saw that, she would also join the other kids in hugging my grandfather. Now, sometime last year, my grandmother ran into the parents of the then 4 year old child that she used to babysit. The mother indicated that her daughter recently mentioned that my grandfather used to give her hugs and that the mother did not find that appropriate. A cop went to my grandparents' house last week to ask if they recall babysitting that child. So, now we are thinking that the mother of that child may be filing a case for harassment of some sort. Do we have a fight on this case? What steps should we undertake? Do we need a lawyer now?

Yes, your grandparents need a lawyer now. Do not talk to the police.
