Power of Attorney

My dad had a friendof many years be power of atty for health issues, I am now here to take care of things, is next of kimn override the orignal power of atty? The person assigned is making decisions I am not comfortable with..waht do I do? (Iwas living quite a ways away)

Just being next of kin doesn't over-ride the power of attorney. You might want to consult with an attorney regarding various options to power of attorney, such as a conservatorship.
