Legal Question in Family Law in California

Pre Divorce Actions

My wife and I decided to put our house up for sale due to financial issues. Then she told me she doesn't want me to live with her and my kids.

Before the house is sold, what actions do I need to take in order to protect myself regarding custody and financially.

I've been out of work since May of 08. She has been the sole source of income (other than unemployment).

Thanks,

J

Re: Pre Divorce Actions

You should not move out if you do not want to move out. Custody may become a problem if you want more custody and she makes you visit the children.

A self help center at the court house can provide some information for you.

As always please consult an attorney prior to taking legal action. Good luck!
