Legal Question in Family Law in California

Does a pre marital agreement protect a partner from prior debt?

I am getting married very soon and I am considering a pre-nuptial agreement because of debt that I have incurred. I owe back child support (with a wage attachment) and I am currently paying an installment agreement to the Federal government for back taxes. I have no real assests, such as property or other investments, however I am a self-employed business owner. Will a pre marital agreement protect my future spouse from being liable for this debt? And, will the agreement be considered valid if we do it ourselves?
