Prenatal Paternity Joint Custody Question

A friend has a girlfriend who's about 7 1/2 - 8 months pregnant. He's not sure if the baby is his or not, but, even if it is, she wouldn't tell him. But, if the child is his, he wants joint custody in order to be part of the child's life. Are there any forms he can file pre-birth to ensure she won't up and disappear with the baby?
