Legal Question in Family Law in California

Prenumptial Agreement in California

I'm curious to know if a prenumptial agreement is essentially voided if a marriage extends past 10 years in the state of California. I was informed by a friend that this is the case and that if a marriage is to end in a divorce, there would be a 50-50 division of assets regardless of the initial prenumptial agreement.

Re: Prenumptial Agreement in California

no. they are disfavored and the court will try to rule against them, but they are not automatically void.
