Legal Question in Family Law in California

I have primary residental rights over my 5 year old-special needs son. I live in Californa (since dec 08)and his father in Florida. Our divorce decree states just that and his father will have him in the summers or when not in school. Now, his father wants more time, to be exact, 6 months out of the year or he will take me to court and request a year. Will the court side with him? His father is in the military and deploys a lot too.. he is a good parent but I don't think it will be fair for our son to be moving schools like that, start school in florida and finish in CA? Any legal advise will be greatly appreciated.
