I have a friend in prison who wants to get a divorce, he is overwhelmed & doesn't know where to start & then what to do.

First, he needs to file the Petition and have it served. If the divorce is uncontested and all of the issues are resolved, he can file for a summary dissolution. You can find a paralegal to do it for about $600-$700 (look in the phone book). If there are a lot of unresolved legal issues, he should get an attorney.
