Legal Question in Family Law in California
Pro Per Respondent of custody trial
Going into second half of Trial, Petitioner has Counsel, they finished calling witnesses during frist half, I cross-examined that day. Can I call petitioner back for further examination when I call witnesses? This is an action in which Father contested the Mediators recommendation and Interim order keeping children in my sole physical and legal custody. Continued alcohol abuse on his and step mothers part. This is after 14 mos of Juvenile Court dependency and their failure to comply with the Family Plan, submitting numerous positive and dilute alcohol test.

Why not. But avoid the same issues that has been previously covered so that there will be no objection/s from the other party.

Yes. When the petitioner called her witnesses, you were able to cross only within the scope of her questions. Now, it is your turn. There's a good chance that you may get an objection such as "asked and answered" but as long as you don't ask repetitive questions, you'll be fine.
