How can we obtain conservativeship of a child who is 23 years old and on a distructive path with drugs and alcholhol?

You can file a petition with your local probate court. It would be a good idea to consult with an attorney before filing anything. Unless your child has mental problems and is unable to care for himself, you may not be appointed. A good strategy could help your case.
