Legal Question in Family Law in California

process in a simple divorce, what forms to file and when

My son was sued for divorce. No children or major property. married 15 months. She is sueing because she has credit cards (in her name) that she wants him to pay 1/2 of. We have sent in the forms that answer the suit with attached letters explaining whole situation. Called the court (california) and they said we need to file a request for judgement. What are the steps to do this and what is disclosure? Do we need to do that? He has all his property from the marriage. She has asked for him to pay attorney fees, support, and half the credit card. She made more money than he did. He paid the full rent every month. She won't show him the all the statements for the credit cards, and has asked in several letters.

You're about to be railroaded

Disclosure refers to forms that need to be filed with the court disclosing various property and financial items. The divorce will not be granted without those forms. Your son really needs to get an attorney on his case. California courts are not known for having a great respect for fairness or justice. The judges here love to stick it to out of state parties. (You didnt say what part of California. Southern California is worse than Northern.)
