Legal Question in Family Law in California

Proof Of Service

Substitute Service:

Can you please tell me what the criteria is to Serve someone this way?

If the person being Served is avoiding this and therefore refusing to give their address, can they be served at a relatives address where they are known to spend time?

Also, if the person being served as substitute service refuses service and tries to run or leave, can you then put the documents down in front of them, and walk away?

Re: Proof Of Service

Service of legal papers is some what complex. Substituted service can be accomplished only by leaving the documents at the persons home or place of employment. The safest option is to hire a professional process server.
