Legal Question in Family Law in California

Proper Court of Jurisdiction

How do I determine the proper court of jurisdiction to file an OSC to establish paternity od an unborn child?

My situation is that my ex-fiance and I had sex in Los Angeles County and she became pregnant.

She lives in Alameda County and I live in San Bernardino County.

We previously had a child together that was part of a court paternity process in San Bernardino County, which currently has jurisdiction over that paternity issue.

Re: Proper Court of Jurisdiction

It is possible to file a motion to add another child to the current paternity action. I would file in San Bernardino so that the paternity and child sharing issues for both children will be in the same court. There is no question but what San Bernardino has jurisdiction, the matter may get moved to Alemeda by a change of venue, but the place to start is San Bernardino. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
