Legal Question in Family Law in California

How can I get the proper form(s) to fill out and record myself to amendment to stop alimony payments to me. I am in a financial hardship. My "X" is trying to get a loan and the alimony stated in divorce documents are stoping him from qualifing. I voluntarily freed him from payments to me five years ago and now need to file legal amendment for this.

There is no perprinted form that will terminate the support. You will need to prepare or have prepared a stipulation to terminate or modify spousal support. An attorney can prepare that and it should be relatively inexpensive. You may contact the facilitators office of your local court house and they could assist you in preparing the form. Your "x" should pay to get this done, if he is the one that wants it done. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
