property division after 20 years

help, my ex and I have been divorced for 17 years. I now wants 1/2 the house? It is in the judgement and I have been served papers with a court date. He has an attorney, I do not, can I represent myself in court and do I have hope to give him less then half??..thanks alot for any help..(I have paid the mortgage for 20 years, he is claiming that he has paid half. not true, but I did get child support)

There is potentially a large sum of money at stake in this case. As such retaining counsel to represent you in this matter would be a prudent course of action. The potential savings could easily exceed the attorney fees you would pay.
