Legal Question in Family Law in California
Am I able to protect my spouse's income and/or assets from my ex-wife?
My ex-wife has taken a large portion of my income for child support, based on 28% of my income. If my income level drops, and my current wife's income goes up. Can my ex-wife gain access to her income too?
For example, if I take a new job that pays less, or if I get laid off, can my ex-wife garnish the wages of my current wife, or sue her for more child support?

She can't sue or garnishee her, but a judge might take into account her income as a reason to adjust or not adjust your support.

Your wife's assets will not directly contribute to the support payments. If you have a change in circumstance, you can request the court to modify the support amount based on the new circumstances. The court will likely look at your income level and economic situation as a whole, which may include your wife's income.
