Yes. You may need an attorney before you get in way over your head. I am in your area and can provide a free consultation. Please don't get a paralegal. I hate cleaning up their mess - it ends up costing much more than it would have if you had obtained an attorney from the beginning. You don't need someone just to fill out forms. You need someone to educate you on your legal rights so you are properly protected in your family law case.

All documents which are submitted to the court must be served on the other party. A proof of service must be filed with the court. It is imperative that you have the assistance of an attorney as the divorce process gets extremely complicated as it goes on.
