Legal Question in Family Law in California
Can you qualify for child support if you are still pregnant.

Interesting question that will depend on some other factors. If you are married there is a presumption that the child was fathered by your husband and you may request spousal support during the pregnancy and later child support and spousal support once the child is born. If you are not married, as there is no "child" for whom paternity may be specifically established although it may be alleged, it is not likely that a court will order spousal support. It is possible that you may get an order for medical support, but again things usually need to wait until the child is born and paternity can be legally established. You want to consult with a family law attorney as soon as possible.
If you can and it is worth the trouble to establish paternity before the birth, you can in some circumstances get an order for assistance with medical expenses, but not child support. Until the child is born, there is no child to support.
