Legal Question in Family Law in California
Do I Qualify for Palimony?
My boyfriend of 12 years just broke up with me. It's still a shock to me. He says I have to leave the house. The house used to be in both our names, until this year when it almost went into forclosure. Both his and my parents loaned him the money to get out of forclosure. Then his parents bought the house and he makes payments to them. So my question is about Palimony. We've lived together for 11 years.
Thank you for your time.

Re: Do I Qualify for Palimony?
Palimony is based on a contract between two people. That is you would have to prove in court that there was an agreement for the two of you to share the profit of your labors while living together. Further that there was an agreement that he would provide support for you. The problem is that it will be a contest between your statement and his statement.
