Because you have not lived in WA for six months or more, you have to file in California. I'm sure you won't find it in a WA bookstore, but online it should be easy for you to find a copy of "How to Do Your Own Divorce in California" by Nolo Press. It's the clearest, simplest book on how to do it I've ever seen. Even though I'm a lawyer, I used it instead of the traditional Family Law books when I did my own divorce, because it was so much clearer.
